UNAPPROVED Minutes of the DMCS Association Meeting on Thursday, September 7, 2006

DMCS Board President Dan Grizzle called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 7, 2006 in the DMC gymnasium.

Cheryl Stenzel, Chair of the Spiritual Life Committee, opened the meeting in prayer.

A motion and second from Association members called for approval of the minutes for the Association meeting on April 25, 2006.  The motion carried with a voice vote.

President Grizzle summarized the process by which the Board arrived at the decision of electing the 12th Director on September 7, 2006.  He introduced Bill Woodyard as candidate for that position.  Mr. Woodyard shared reasons for his willingness to serve the school in the capacity of Board member at this time.  President Grizzle initiated dissemination of the written ballots for the election.

During the election, DMCS Board Treasurer Terry Williams updated the Association about the school’s current financial situation, reporting that the FY06 budget finished in the black, and enrollment at the start of FY07 is positive.

Also during the election, Dr. Ben Ochs, DMCS Board Vice-President, gave a final report to the Association on the recent completion of the new playground, sharing names of individuals and vendors who contributed vision, time, talent, and equipment for completion of the construction project.

Dr. Bob Stouffer, DMCS Superintendent, issued a formal invitation for everyone in attendance to attend the school’s open house immediately after adjournment of the Association meeting.  Dr. Stouffer also made several informational announcements.

Time was allotted for a Q&A (question-and-answer) period.

Following the Q&A, President Grizzle announced that the Association had elected Bill Woodyard as the 12th (and final) Director to a three-year term for 2006-2009.

Director Ken Hockmuth closed the meeting in prayer.

President Grizzle adjourned the meeting at 7:30 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Dr. Bob Stouffer, Temporary Recording Secretary
