Summary of Major Actions Taken During the DMCS Board Meeting on February 20, 2006

The Board met in Executive Session. Ten (10) of the 12 Directors were in attendance, representing a quorum. The one action was taken during Executive Session – extending the contract of Dr. Bob Stouffer as Superintendent of Des Moines Christian School.
Board President Todd Goeldner called the Open Session meeting to order.
Nine (9) of the 12 Directors were in attendance, representing a quorum. Dr. Bob Stouffer, Superintendent, was also present.
Vice-President Dan Grizzle opened the meeting in prayer.
The Board adjourned to Closed Session. Nine (9) of the 12 Directors were in attendance, representing a quorum.
The Board approved Board minutes for Closed Session meetings on January 16, 2006 and February 6, 2006.
The Board certified the call-down approval of Dave Bosman as Volunteer Softball Assistant for the 2006 season.
Dr. Stouffer and President Goeldner offered an update about the water damage which occurred as a result of a sprinkler pipe breaking in the secondary vocal music room on Sunday, February 19, 2006.
The Board reconvened in Open Session.
The Board approved Board minutes for Open Session meetings on January 30, 2006 and February 6, 2006.
Association Member Paul Thune addressed his concerns about EPC’s recent recommendation to the Board about grading policies at DMCS relative to coursework taken at Central Academy and Central Campus in Des Moines.
The Board approved the calendar for the 2006-2007 school year.
All other agenda items were tabled due to time constraints.
Director Cheryl Stenzel closed the meeting in prayer.
The meeting was adjourned.
