DES MOINES, IOWA, September 6, 2005 –  Des Moines Christian School will held a  Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony at 7:30 a.m.  today, September 6, 2054 at the Timberline Campus of DMCS, 13007 Douglas Parkway, Urbandale.  Parents, faculty, staff, students, and friends gathered to cut the ribbon for a new elementary building at the Timberline Campus.  Doors opened at 8:00 a.m. for the first day of school.

 

“There are tears of joy as we begin classes this wonderful new campus. God has richly blessed us each step of the way, and I have faith that He will use this building for His glory, as we desire to serve our families and the community with the love of Christ, “stated Dr. Bob Stouffer, Superintendent.  “As we celebrate this new facility, we emphatically proclaim:  It’s not about the building! It’s about helping nearly 900 young hearts and minds grow to be more like Christ.”

 

Early Education and elementary will begin school at Timberline.  Secondary (Grades 7-12) will continue to meet at The Franklin Campus. The secondary building will be ready to open by late October or November 1.

 

Directions to Timberline: Take the Douglas exit off I-80/35. Go west 1 mile. The campus is on the north side of Douglas Parkway, 1 block west of 128th Street.

 

Des Moines Christian School has been providing quality Christ-centered education to Central Iowa families for over 56 years.  DMCS is a non-denominational school serving nearly 900 students in Early Education through Grade 12.
