Bus Driver
DMCS is in need of bus drivers who can drive during the school day primarily. Some late afternoon-evening athletic trips may also be available. In order to drive a school bus, you would need to obtain a Class B CDL with passenger, air brake and school bus endorsements. The process for licensure involves a written test and pre-trip and driving skills test by the Department of Transportation. You must also pass a DOT physical every two years. You must pass pre-employment drug and background checks. And you must be available for random drug tests throughout your employment. In addition, a DMCS school bus driver must have and maintain a good driving record. The Department of Education requires a 12-hour school bus driver’s course during the first six months of driving and a 3-hour annual class.
