Curriculum Director
Linda Steddom
After spending ten years teaching in public schools, the Lord brought me to the position of Director of Curriculum and Assessment at DMCS in 2001. Some of my main responsibilities include overseeing curriculum development and revision, textbook selection, teacher in-service, accreditation, and standardized assessments.
I am a graduate of Pella High School, received my Bachelor’s Degree from Central College in Pella, and my Master of Science Degree in elementary education from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri. The Lord has provided me with a myriad of career experiences. These include teaching lower elementary grades in various schools and teaching at Northwest Missouri State’s Horace Mann Laboratory School where I was responsible for overseeing nearly 100 education majors as they taught in my classroom. I also taught as an adjunct professor for Grandview College in Des Moines and oversaw student teachers for Upper Iowa University’s Des Moines campus.
I grew up in a Christian home and received Christ as my personal Savior at Bible camp in junior high school. I have been active in various capacities at Valley Evangelical Free Church including deaconess, children’s ministry director, and have taught in several capacities. My priorities include co-ministering with my husband to raise our daughter to be the woman God desires her to be and to ensure DMCS remains true to its mission of equipping students to grow in their walk with the Lord through their educational experiences.
