Development Director
Samona Yentes
I joined Des Moines Christian School as Development Director in November 1999 because I love Des Moines Christian School and have an unflinching commitment to Christ-centered education. I saw God at work at DMCS and wanted to join Him. The Development Office is the primary promotion department for DMCS, serving as coordinator for fundraising, public relations, brand development, and assisting in student recruitment.
Prior to DMCS, I concurrently served as Legislative Director for the Iowa Right to Life Committee for 11 years and Legislative Liaison for the Iowa Association of Christian Schools (IACS) for 10 years. Having served as the past President of IACS, I am currently the Vice President of the Iowa Alliance for Choice in Education (Iowa ACE) and am a member of the Christian Leadership Alliance. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Upper Iowa University.
The youngest of 14 children, who were educated at Leota Christian School and Southwest Minnesota Christian High school, I came to know the Lord at a young age and have been growing in my faith throughout my life. A passion for Christ-centered education and heartfelt joy in giving spur me on to encourage others in the joy of biblical stewardship.
"Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. ... your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. ...This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God." II Corinthians 9:6-7,12
