DMCS FOUNDATION
The Des Moines Christian School Foundation exists to provide resources for the long-term existence of Des Moines Christian School. The Foundation's role is to actively encourage, receive, and steward charitable support to enhance the school and its mission.
History of the Foundation
The Foundation was incorporated in 1994 to ensure that DMCS could have a multi-generational impact on families and their children's education. The goal of providing financial stability for the future was part of a larger vision that included dollars for scholarships, facilities and equipment, and expanded programming to serve a growing number of families.
Foundation Funds
Foundation gifts to the Endowment Fund may be restricted or unrestricted to support the Christian education programs of Des Moines Christian School to one of the following funds:
Legacy Club
The Legacy Club consists of individuals, families, or foundations who have made provisions to leave a legacy of Christ-centered education through an estate gift to the DMCS Foundation. Legacy member names will not be published without written permission from the donor.
Gift Planning
The Foundation encourages friends of DMCS to consider charitable support for DMCS by sharing sound gift planning information. Several giving "vehicles" are available to fit the needs of individual donors in directing their estate gifts.
Opportunities for Lifetime Giving

Cash: when interest rates are low and investments may be producing a low return, cash may be an optimal choice.

Appreciated Assets (e.g. stockes, real estate): A rally in the stock market provides an optimal value for gifting stock

Life Insurance: Consider gifting an existing policy you no longer need (perhaps after the children are grown) or make a leveraged gift with a new policy.

401K or IRA: Make tax-efficient gifts or designate the DMCS Foundation as a beneficiary of a portion of your 401K or IRA (for example: 10%).

Bequest in will or trust: Act today to benefit DMCS in the future by designating the DMCS Foundation as a beneficiary of your estate or trust.
