Music Parents Association
The MPA is a parent organization that supports the elementary and high school music and art programs.
As a parent of a child enrolled in the music and art programs of Des Moines Christian School, you are a member of the MPA.
Meetings
1st Monday of each month @ 7:00 p.m.
High School Media Center
* Because of the Labor Day holiday on September 7, MPA will meet on the 3rd Monday (September 21).
Parent Opportunities
Serve as an officer (currently in need of a President and Vice President)
- Attend monthly meetings to discuss upcoming events
- Organize fundraising activities
• The main fundraiser each year is the greenery sales in the fall
• Funds are used to pay for art equipment and supplies, music, uniforms, instruments,
equipment, music trips, etc.
- Assist art and music instructors in the classroom and before/during various programs and activities
• Help set up stage and chairs for music programs, hang art for the spring art show, supervise
students during performances, volunteer in the classroom, etc.
- Support and encourage students
• Attend events, provide student recognition, assist students with uniforms, etc.
- Specific opportunities will become available throughout the year
