Change Brings Challenges!

All offices at DMCS are experiencing the blessings and accompanying challenges of preparing for a software conversion in the next 8 weeks. We are eagerly attending training and preparing to make a smooth transition of information from six non-communicating systems into one comprehensive system that will improve teamwork and efficiencies between all departments. The new software has wonderful new capabilities that will help us serve you better and we look forward to doing just that!

In that process, the Development office faces two “challenges” that we would ask you to prayerfully consider:

  1. One area of fundraising software that can “hiccup” during conversion is outstanding pledges. If you have an outstanding balance on a pledge, and are able to do so, would you consider paying that pledge in full by May 21? You will receive a letter in the next few days with the details of your pledge.
  2. As I am inundated with the details of assuring data accuracy during the conversion process, I am not getting out of the office to talk with friends and families about giving opportunities at the school, such as:
    1. The final funding for Blackbaud software installation and training, needed by July 1 ($27,000)
    2. New lockers for the north elementary hallway to be ordered and installed this summer ($10,000)
    3. Books for secondary library to be ordered and catalogued this summer ($10,000)
    4. Two student computers to be used for Graphic Arts in the secondary art room ($2,000)
    5. Intercom/bell system (summer installation is preferable) $12,000
    6. Scholarship funding for qualified families by June 15 (any amount up to $100,000 of estimated total need). Available funds are distributed prior to July contract payments.

If you have a heart to support any of these needs at DMCS (or perhaps your company has grants or matching gifts for these types of items), please contact me at syentes@dmcs.org or 515-252-2497 and I would be happy to visit with you about the details.

Thank you for your patience and support during this process.

Samona Yentes, Development Director
