I am eagerly anticipating my eleventh year at DMCS. It is my goal to prayerfully recognize each child's potential and encourage each to do his / her best by emphasizing biblical principles and character qualities. Working as a partner with the family and church, I trust that each child will grow academically, spiritually, and socially and be given many opportunities to create memorable and enjoyable experiences as part of the growth process.
My dream of teaching began in third grade, and the Lord had a hand in preparing me as He fulfilled my dream. My educational background includes a BS in elementary education from Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana, and an MA from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas. I have current Iowa K-8 and ACSI teaching certificates, and I am eager to grow and be challenged to be a better teacher through further course work. I have taught 27 years in Christian schools with experience in grades 1-8.
I was raised in a Christian home and recognized my need for salvation at age five. The Lord has given me many opportunities to grow in Him through personal Bible study, camps, retreats, the local church, and Bible study groups. He has blessed me with a wonderful family: my husband of 37 years (Keith; a grown son, daughter, and son-in-law; and two wonderful grandchildren.
