Varisty Girls Track Coach - Cindy Kostek
Coach Kostek is starting her 9th full year at DMC as secondary counselor, track and volleyball coach. She graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1981 with a K-12 Physical Education degree and coaching endorsement. While at UNL, Coach Kostek earned NCAA All-American status as a sprinter and served as a graduate assistant in the track program for one year. She taught and coached at Milford Public Schools in Milford, NE from 1982-1989 and at Parkview Christian School in Lincoln, NE from 1994-2000. In January of 2001, the Kosteks relocated to Des Moines and Coach Kostek began her coaching and counseling duties at DMC. In May of 2003, Coach Kostek earned her Masters in School Counseling degree from Drake University. She and her husband, Mark, have four children; Tatum, Tom, Leah, and Katelyn.

Coach Gonnerman has coached a variety of sports throughout his 31 years of teaching and coaching. Coach Gonnerman graduated with a B.A. from Westmar College in 1978 where he participated in track, football and baseball. He has successfully coached football, softball, baseball, volleyball and track as a head coach since entering that profession in the fall of 1978. Coach Gonnerman has been a head boy’s track coach for 12 years and an assistant for 10 years prior to this year. He has been the head track coach at DMCS for the past six years. Coach Gonnerman and his wife Terri have three children (Jen, Jamie and Joshua) and five grandchildren.
