DMCS assigns letter grades using a 4.0 grading scale system.
The academic program is organized into a modified block schedule. A minimum of 56 credits is required for graduation. See Graduation Requirements for specifics. View our Course Guide.
DMCS offers Advanced Placement (AP) courses on campus for students seeking academic rigor in preparation for college and career. The current AP courses are AP Chemistry, AP Literature, AP US History, and *AP Calculus.
Des Moines Christian School partners with Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) to provide dual credit classes for students seeking to obtain college credit while they are high school students. DMACC credits are highly transferable within the State of Iowa. The current dual credit offerings are Composition I, Composition II, Creative Writing, Painting, Drawing, Graphic Design, and *AP Calculus.
*This course counts as AP and dual credit.
ACT Test Scores
98 % of the Class of 2015 took the ACT with an average composite score of 25.
On average, 84% of DMCS graduates have been accepted to a four year college or university over the past nine years.
