DMC Makes Historic Land Purchase with $7M Gift

In  2024 Des Moines Christian School purchased 104 acres of farmland approximately one mile north of the current Urbandale campus.  The land was purchased with a generous $7 million gift from a donor with deep passion for the mission and vision of Des Moines Christian School. The gift covered the full purchase price of the land. Located between Meredith Drive and Aurora (north to south) and 128th Street and 142nd Street (east to west), the property of this size with such close proximity to the school was an answer to prayer.  

DMC has been pursuing opportunities to grow access to Christian education and respond to the growing demand for enrollment, while protecting the school's mission and culture. Although the farmland was not for sale, the owners approached DMC with the opportunity to purchase the land for the purpose of expanding Christian education.
