The Middle School STEAM Instructor develops and implements a comprehensive STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) program for grades 6–8 that fosters creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and real-world problem solving.
This role includes program development for a new middle school STEAM initiative, collaboration and coaching with faculty to integrate STEAM practices across disciplines, and direct student engagement through exploratory courses and interdisciplinary learning experiences.
The Teaching and Learning Facilitator supports the mission of Des Moines Christian School by providing highly visible, teacher-facing support that strengthens Tier I instruction across EE–12. Reporting to the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, this role works collaboratively with teachers, Division Heads, Christian Professional Learning Community (CPLC) leaders, and the Dyslexia Specialist to ensure that high-quality, biblically integrated instruction is delivered consistently in every classroom. The Teaching and Learning Facilitator serves as a hands-on partner with teachers, helping implement curriculum, essential learnings, classroom management strategies, and formative assessment practices while supporting the Director in achieving alignment across Tier I instruction and MTSS systems.

Des Moines Christian School’s High School Counseling team currently consists of two counselors, and we are excited to add this new role focused on college and career readiness. Together, the counseling team partners to serve students and families across the high school.
The College and Career Counselor fulfills the mission of DMC by leading the school’s college and career readiness efforts, guiding students as they discern their calling within a biblical context and cast the vision of vocation as a means of honoring God. Through leadership and individualized guidance, this role helps students align their academic experiences, gifts, and aspirations with postsecondary education and career pathways. The Counselor serves as the primary resource for students and families as they explore options and navigate the decisions and next steps related to life after high school.
