Our Campus

Stone lions stand at the entrance of the tree-lined boulevard leading to Des Moines Christian School. Our  26-acre campus is located in the Timberline neighborhood in western Urbandale, easily accessible from  Des Moines and surrounding suburbs. Green space, the athletic complex, two playgrounds and the softball and baseball fields circle the exterior of the school. Inside are the classrooms that make up the Early Education department, Elementary School, Middle School and High School. The Great Room, Performance Hall, and STEAM Labs allow for innovative programming and unique gathering spaces. DMC is committed to maintaining excellence and enhancing the facilities entrusted to our care.

STEAM Labs provide the exploratory spaces for students to deeply engage in science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics.

The Performance Hall provides the stage for fine arts activities including concerts, musicals, plays and our show choir showcase Illumination. The space is capable of doubling as a gym separated into two courts to provide additional space for athletics practices, Elementary PE, and Early Education play.

The Great Room provides a multi-functional and welcoming space for lunch, study hall and events. Designed with the student experience in mind, expanded square footage, sound suppression, and varied seating options make the Great Room uniquely adaptable for a variety of roles.

The Elementary Media Center includes a Learning Lab that provides a space dedicated to instructional enrichment and support of student success.

Lions Field has stadium seating for 1,500 spectators, an eight-lane track, and an artificial turf soccer and football field.

Outdoor spaces
An elementary playground and a second age-appropriate playground for Early Education students both back up to tree-lined woods, providing additional privacy and security. Students can further spread out during recess onto the artificial turf football and baseball fields.

Chapel
The Chapel is the centerpiece of DMC's newly renovated High School and Middle School. The Chapel is used for a variety of gatherings including student instruction, parent programs, music recitals, student performances and, of course, worship. The robust audio and video system is designed to virtually bring students to places and speakers around the world.
