DMC’s new Middle School Principal is Mr. Brian Town. Mr. Town has an incredible background in school leadership, and has devoted the majority of his career to middle school learners. He has diverse experiences in education and administration, from elementary to high school, both academically and athletically, and will bring great insight to our growing middle school culture. Mr. Town's expertise as well as his spiritual depth position him well to join DMC’s leadership team.

“More than 20 years of my professional career has been at the middle school level, and that is intentional. This is the age group that I really enjoy–they are fun and they are ever changing. There’s such an opportunity to have a positive impact as they grow in their identity in Christ,” Mr. Town says.

Mr. Town received his Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education at Northwestern College in Orange City and his Master of Arts in Education Leadership from Viterbo University. Mr. Town began his teaching career with Southeast Polk. He then spent 11 years in various leadership roles within Johnston Middle School. Most recently Mr. Town finished his sixth year as the Principal of Roland-Story Middle School.

The Town family will be relocating to the metro area this summer and Mr. Town will officially join our DMC team in July.

“After meeting with teachers and leadership, it’s apparent you live out your mission at DMC and do so together as a family. I am excited to experience that as principal, and excited that my children will experience this as students. The ability to immerse ourselves in a Christian education environment and build upon the excellence already established at Des Moines Christian is something my family and I are truly thankful for,” Mr. Town says.

Mr. Town and his wife Sarah have three children Max-8th Grade, Anna-5th Grade, and Olivia-2nd Grade. They enjoy playing family games, having movie nights, participating in outdoor activities, and cheering on the Hawkeyes, as well as their yearly summer trip to northern Minnesota.
