Will Weaver
Head of Spiritual Formation

Mr. Weaver has a deep passion for Christian education as a means of seeing children come to "glorify God and enjoy him forever.” His role exists to provide the conditions at DMC in which God shapes souls through our understanding that everything we do – from academics and curriculum to chapel and mission trips – is spiritual formation. His wife, Traci, teaches at DMC, and both of their boys are Lions as well. After spending more than a decade in Christian schools in Dallas, TX, they moved their family to Des Moines to be a part of what God is doing at DMC.

He has been in education for 15 years, starting out as a Latin teacher before moving to teaching history, theology, leadership, and art history at the middle and high school levels. His subsequent experience includes serving as a middle and high school principal, biblical worldview coordinator, and in curriculum development. He holds a BA in History from the University of Oklahoma and an M. Div from Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, TX.

His personal and professional obsession is asking the question: “why?” – with the conviction that this is the best way to better know God, his world, and his people. Mr. Weaver said, “Our school has the best mission statement of any institution on the planet. What could be more important than equipping minds and nurturing hearts to impact the world for Christ?”
