Elementary Admissions Process

Step 1: Complete an Inquiry

Tell us more about your student and family by completing an Inquiry for each student in your family.  Your child’s full name and actual date of birth (not a future date) are needed to accept your inquiry. Inquiries are accepted at any time during the year. 

The inquiry asks which school year you are requesting. For Kindergarten,  students must be 5 on or before September 15.

Completing an inquiry places your student in the wait pool but does not guarantee enrollment. A number of factors impact placement in the wait pool including, but not limited to, date of inquiry, sibling of an enrolled student, children of full-time staff members, and children of alumni. Our Admissions office will follow up once your inquiry is received.

The admissions process begins in September 2026 for the 2027/28 school year. Families who have submitted an inquiry for their child will be contacted by the Admissions office by email and given access to the Lion Campus parent portal to begin the process for the 2027/28 school year. 

Families who are invited to apply will complete a  checklist that includes the written application, birth certificate, agreement with our Admissions Criteria, and a nonrefundable application fee. Rising 1st-4th graders will also be asked for one teacher recommendation and school records including report cards, attendance, and behavior reports.

Step 3: Visit the School  

Students who advance in the process will be invited to visit the school. Your visit will include a tour, screening process, and opportunities to connect with other students and teachers.

Step 4: Interview 

Our elementary leaders look forward to meeting with parents during the interview process.During this 30 to 60 minute interview, we hope to learn more about your family, assess if DMC can meet the learning needs of your child, and answer your questions. 

Step 5: Enroll

Contracts are offered to students who meet all of our Admissions Criteria. The number of openings available each year varies by grade.

Step 6: Welcome to DMC!

We are excited to connect you with the DMC community! You will receive invitations to new family events and school activities so you can connect with other DMC families. Student and family ambassadors help navigate your first year at DMC.  You are officially Lions and we look forward to many years of making memories with you.
