Band 

DMC’s middle school instrumental music program encompasses concert band, marching band, jazz band, and solo/ensemble opportunities. The DMC middle school band participates in area contests and honor bands throughout the year. A highlight event for the middle school band students is the field trip to Pella to participate in the Tulip Time parade.

Jazz Band

Middle School Jazz Band is a non-auditioned group of band members with a desire to learn the language of jazz. They learn to play a wide variety of jazz music from swing, blues, Latin, and rock. The group has a competitive season, attending area jazz festivals. In the spring DMC hosts an annual Jazz Night for the community featuring our middle school and high school jazz bands.
