Characters: A Who, Cadet, Hunch, and Circus Folk
"Being part of the ensemble is extremely important to me. Even though we aren’t the ones with solos or main parts, we’re the heart of the show and help bring the story to life! I decided to audition for the show because theater has always had a special place in my heart. As a new student, I was nervous to act with new castmates, but they’ve made me feel so loved and welcomed, and they encourage me to do my best every day. I’ve also had such a fun time meeting new people and learning from actors with more experience. I’m so excited for opening night; not only to glorify God with the gifts He’s given me to act, but also to share with the audience what an amazing show this is and all the little surprises along the way!"

Character: Gertrude McFuzz
"My character Gertrude McFuzz is a dorky, self-conscious bird with a one feather tail, who is madly in love with Horton the Elephant. I decided to be on stage this year instead of behind the scenes, because I wanted to share the stage with my friends for my last year in theater! It has been so fun to work so hard with all of my friends.
The best part of being in DMC Drama is the community. Everyone gets so close, especially with tech week and long rehearsals, and it becomes like a little family. Cheering everyone on is the best.
One thing that I have learned in drama is how to have a good work ethic. You can only accomplish so much in rehearsal, more of the work comes on your own, learning and memorizing songs and lines. The more work you put in by yourself, the better your character becomes, and everyone else benefits from it as well!
I am most excited to finally share this crazy show with other people! There are so many fun and wacky characters, costumes, props, that I can not wait for everyone to see."
