DMC Announces New Director of Curriculum, Instruction, & Assessment
May 11, 2026
We are privileged to announce that Katie Norwood will be joining our Academics team as our Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment beginning in the 2026-27 school year! Mrs. Norwood brings a wealth of experience to the position, including:
- Designing and producing curriculum and professional development for multiple schools in the Houston area as a Dean of Instruction and a Director of Academic Support
- Leading her own consulting firm, during which she developed curriculum, coached instructors, and provided development for school districts in Texas, New York, Michigan, and elsewhere around the country.
Most recently, Mrs. Norwood has served as our 7th grade English teacher and CPLC Lead for MS ELA. Under her leadership, her team has excelled at biblical worldview integration, data-informed instruction, and deep work in tying planning, instruction, and learning opportunities to essential standards. We are most excited about how she can take our school to the next level with biblical worldview integration (BWI) embedded in unit planning as well as standards and frameworks for instruction and assessment.
Katie and her husband Brent joined our DMC community in 2022 with their wonderful daughters Ava (Class of ’31) and Ella (Class of ’33).
