DMC Seussical Cast Recognized by IHSMTA

The cast and crew of the Des Moines Christian School theater department's Seussical the Musical have been recognized by the Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards with the Outstanding Overall Technical and Creative Achievement Award and the Outstanding Achievement for Ensemble Award. 

Individual student honors include the following:

• Outstanding Achievement in a Principal Role – Deacon Menninga ('26) as Horton
• Outstanding Achievement in a Principal Role – Molly Jingst ('26) as Cat in the Hat
• Outstanding Achievement in a Behind-the-Scenes Role – Skyler Ruisch ('27) and Heidi Harris ('27), Head of Props
• Special Recognition in a Principal Role – Abby Gehlbach ('26) as Gertrude McFuzz
• Special Recognition in a Principal Role – Peter Vermillion ('27) as Boy/Jojo

Congratulations to Deacon Menninga, who was accepted into the prestigious Triple Threat program and will audition for the opportunity to represent Iowa at the Jimmy Awards in New York City. Deacon was also selected to perform a solo as Horton the Elephant at the IHSMTA Showcase at the Des Moines Civic Center.
